NC State and Ole Miss Set to face off in holiday hoops showcase at First Horizon Coliseum

Basketball fans are in for a holiday treat as NC State University’s men’s basketball team will take on the University of Mississippi (Ole Miss) on Sunday, December 21, 2025, at First Horizon Coliseum in Greensboro, North Carolina.
 

The non-conference showdown, featuring the Atlantic Coast Conference’s Wolfpack and the Southeastern Conference’s Rebels, is expected to be one of the marquee matchups of the holiday season. The game will provide fans with a high-profile clash between two programs with strong national followings and postseason aspirations.

“This is the type of game that college basketball fans circle on the calendar,” said Glenn Smith of GS Global Sports. “Bringing NC State and Ole Miss together in a neutral-site environment showcases elite competition and gives Greensboro the chance to host a first-class event.”

NC State, led by head coach Will Wade looks to continue to build on its tradition of excellence within the ACC, while Ole Miss, under head coach Chris Beard has emerged as a rising contender in the SEC. Their meeting in Greensboro will add another chapter to both programs’ non-conference résumés and deliver an NCAA Tournament–level atmosphere.
